Day 1 - Arrival and Sigiriya

Your journey begins as you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, where a representative from PL Sri Lanka Tours will greet you. From here, you'll head to the historic city of Sigiriya, with a stop at the famousPinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

Founded in 1975, Pinnawala is home to the world's largest herd of captive elephants. Watch these gentle giants bathe, play, and enjoy milk feeding from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It's a memorable opportunity to witness their daily routines. After this visit, you'll check into your hotel in Sigiriya to unwind for the night.

Day 2 - Sigiriya to Kandy

Start your day with a climb up the majesticSigiriya Rock Fortress, often called the "Lion Rock." Built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a blend of history, architecture, and breathtaking views.

Next, visit theRangiri Dambulla Cave Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at its intricate murals and 157 statues housed within five chambers beneath a towering rock ceiling.

On your way to Kandy, stop at aSpice Gardento learn about Sri Lanka's renowned spices and their culinary and medicinal uses. Visit theMatale Muthumariamman Temple, a vibrant Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess of fertility and rain, before arriving in Kandy.

End your day at theTemple of the Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist shrine housing a relic of Lord Buddha. Β End your day with theKandy Cultural Dance Show, showcasing Sri Lanka's traditional dance and music. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 3 - Kandy to Ella

Travel to Ella, a charming hill town, with scenic stops along the way. VisitRamboda Falls, one of Sri Lanka's tallest waterfalls, and theDamro Labookelle Tea Centre, where you can enjoy a free factory tour and tea tasting.

InNuwara Eliya, exploreGregory Lake, enjoy a pony ride, and visit the historicNuwara Eliya Post Office, a colonial-era architectural gem. From Nuwara Eliya, board a train to Ella for one of the world's most scenic train rides. Relish panoramic views of lush tea plantations, valleys, and bridges while mingling with locals and sampling delicious snacks. Overnight in Ella.

Day 4 - Ella to Yala

Begin your day with a hike toLittle Adam's Peak, a picturesque climb through tea plantations, offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Next, visit the iconicNine Arch Bridge, a marvel of colonial engineering and a must-see attraction in Ella.

On your way to Yala, make a stop at theRavana Falls, a waterfall steeped in local folklore and one of the widest in Sri Lanka. Arrive at Yala, where you'll settle in for the night.

Day 5: Yala to Mirissa

On Day 5, we'll take you directly to the stunning coastal town of Mirissa. Once there, you'll visitCoconut Tree Hill, one of the most iconic landmarks in the area. This mineral-rich headland, facing the Indian Ocean, offers panoramic views that are nothing short of breathtaking. From the main street, it's just a short 10-15 minute walk down to the beach. At the top of Coconut Tree Hill, you'll find a picture-perfect setting to capture unforgettable moments with the spectacular view of Mirissa Beach and its bay in the background.

Next, we'll explore thewaterfront and fish market, where you can witness local fishermen bringing in their daily catch and participating in lively auctions. Take some time to stroll through the town and soak up its vibrant energy before retiring to your accommodation for the evening.

Day 6: Mirissa to Bentota

Your sixth day begins with thewhale-watching tour, offering you the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness these magnificent marine creatures up close. Mirissa is one of the best locations in Sri Lanka for whale and dolphin watching. Among the marine species you may encounter are blue whales, killer whales, sperm whales, fin whales, common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, spinner dolphins, striped dolphins, and Risso's dolphins. The peak season for whale watching runs fromNovember to April, when the waters are calm and ideal for spotting these majestic animals.

After this exhilarating experience, we'll head towardsBentota, with a stop at the historicGalle Fortalong the way. Built by the Portuguese in 1588 and fortified by the Dutch in 1649. Next, we'll visit theTurtle Hatchery Farmin Galle, which plays a crucial role in protecting and nurturing baby turtles before releasing them into the ocean.

To wrap up the day, we'll enjoy aboat ride along the Madu Riverin Balapitiya, then you'll be transported to your hotel to unwind.
